“GanGreene. "I encountered many stumbling blocks in this process that I want to share as big tips so you guys DON’T do this: 1) Do not overcomplicate.Simplify the things you see so your paintings can better convey the message you are trying to achieve. 2) Don’t add too much detail where it doesn’t need to be. In this case, every brick, window plane, etc. It causes a big distraction and loses the focal point for your audience.

Plein-air paintings I did not know what was the best way to create an impactful first “impression” in regards to the main subject of interest in this house… but one thing I learned was being able to see how light affects value, hue, and chroma in nature and the many different colors that exist We don’t easily see are there. And so I hope the obvious and subtle colors you see here convey some sort of mood in you… In context of this piece personally i wanted to take on a quiet and reflective mood but regardless you are free to convey whatever mood in you with these colors.

This is just a character concept I have made. Her name is Elizabeth, why? I don’t know… I’m not good with names! I wanted to showcase you guys what could be the characters of my “Merging Phoenix” work in one of my former posts by showing you the concept art to one of them. I will challenge myself to show you all the rest of the character concepts for each one and with color. I included the sketch stage to final rendering stage.

I wanted to challenge myself in making my paintings have more texture. Although there are many things to paint, one of the things I wanted to do is to paint a girl but I do not think it feels like it has any texture :) Maybe in the next one I will have more texture than I do here.

“Nightwing” My very first “fan art”. Nightwing was one of my favorite heroes growing up. From the comics, his story as Robin slowly moving away from Batman’s shadow to be his own man, to the impact he had in the entire DC universe. He is what got me into art, comics, and stories just as other people who came across in my life.

"Gray" Another portrait I did with the process step-by-step. I believe I improved a lot in my previous painting, particularly proportions. In my previous painting the proportion of the nose compromised the overall form and appeal and I wanted to fix that here.

This is the process and step-by-step of how I created this portrait.

"Merging Phoenix/theGirls" I was having a lot of fun in the last project with galaxy/stars that I wanted to do something similar, this time not for a client nor commission just my own concept art. Inspired by Jean Gray/the Phoenix Force comics from X-Men. I did not know the best title for this as you can see a lot of (hopefully) fundamentally good things from the scene, colors, the girls, and the phoenix. I wanted the focus to be more on those two subjects.

"Aura" Made in Adobe Photoshop. The project was intended for a client; Daniel Hernandez for his book. Based off of an adventure of four kids.

Here are some mock-ups for the book cover. I used the font Verdana to accompany the mood of the painting. Verdana originates with the word verdant (something green) and so to best fit the title, type, color, and wholesomeness of the characters, I thought it would work.

The Mock-ups and type were done in Indesign

This is the painting process/workflow of how I work and do my paintings. Usually consists of an establishing base color, value, composition, and refining.

I've always been a "Shy Guy" not able to reveal myself too much. Threw a "semi-realistic" style to it. Mask is inspired by my childhood Mario games the character Shy Guy. Made with Adobe Photoshop (1/23/2021)

I wanted to display a very brief comic I did for school on drug abuse and mental health. I always was passionate about mental health awareness and the struggles people go through in life. I never got around to expanding more on this story, but making a comic book was one of my biggest dreams.
